Bang for your buck.jpg

What’s the best bang for your buck?

The aim of the project is to develop a bigger-picture framework that helps conservationists determine which conservation initiative(s) best suit an area’s human and biodiversity needs.

This PhD will evaluate the sociological (how do people value sea turtles and sea turtle conservation?), economic (how much does sea turtle conservation cost?), and ecological (how many sea turtles are conserved?) aspects of various sea turtle conservation initiatives. These initiatives include marine protected areas, aquaria turtle rehabilitation and release centers, and nesting shore turtle monitoring programs in South Africa, as well as sea turtle hatcheries in India. - Amanda Elaine Robbins
